I've spent eighteen years caring for patients in treatment or recovery, first within hospital surroundings, and now continuing that same specialist care in my own practice. The setting has changed. The care hasn't. Alongside my own practice, I also work within a GP clinic, supporting patients living with a whole range of chronic conditions, so this isn't occasional or unfamiliar territory for me. It's a steady, ongoing part of my work, week in, week out.
This began through Beatson Cancer Charity, at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, supporting cancer patients through some of their hardest days, and has since grown to support those living with COPD and many other chronic and long term conditions too. Thousands of sessions in clinical, hospital and GP settings sit behind every single appointment I offer today.
You won't need to decide a thing on the day, and you certainly won't need to explain or justify what you're going through. Whether what serves you best is soothing massage, a nourishing facial, deep relaxation, Reiki, or a little EFT (tapping) to help your mind settle first if it's racing when you arrive, I'll gently assess what's right and safe for you on the day, and tailor everything accordingly, always working within what your treatment team and your body allow.
This kind of slow, unhurried touch matters more than people realise, especially for a body already working so hard. Certain nerve fibres in the skin only respond to gentle, intentional contact, and once activated, they send a direct signal to the nervous system that it's safe to rest. When you're navigating illness or treatment, that signal of safety can be a genuine relief, not just physically, but emotionally too.
